Fin, A-level Student.

Mentoring and coaching sessions have been an excellent opportunity for me to interact with other students who are going through the same experience as myself in my education. We are taught to ensure we look after our own personal well-being and the importance of taking a step back from work from time to time. At the same time however, we have been introduced to a wide array of different revision techniques, and individually I now feel as though I know how I work most effectively.

DAC Tutors has helped me gain the skills I need, not only by tutoring but by also mentoring me, by helping me develop habits that will keep me proactive in my learning. My tutor is very compassionate and takes her time before every lesson to ask about my mental health and how I have been coping during these tough times and she does her absolute best to support in any way she can. She thoroughly and meticulously explains every topic in detail to me and goes through exam style questions to test my knowledge. She has taught me skills such as exam technique and made me improve the way in which I approach and answer questions. My understanding and knowledge have deepened a lot more as she answers all my questions. My performance at school has massively improved as I am now ahead of my class as I go over the topic beforehand with my tutor.

Since from my first lesson it was clear to me that they took genuine interest in inspiring, academically challenging and supporting her students in order for them to reach their full potential. Having had experience with other tutors in the past, I am able to recognise that her lessons are planned to a very high standard which is not common; she also has the ability to incisively explain information in a way that is interesting and clear. I found DAC tutors when I realised I needed extra support in chemistry, as I found the content and exam questions quite overwhelming due to the big transition from GCSE. I can honestly say that I could not have found a better tutor to suit my needs. I can see a huge difference in my grades from the start of the year to now and I know I couldn’t have done it without her continuous support. The lessons are engaging, fun but also challenging in a way that stretches me, helping me get a better understanding of any topic.

I chose DAC Tutors to provide tutoring for my daughter a few months into her Chemistry A level course as she found it a big jump from GCSE. Her tutor identified fundamental areas where my daughter lacked understanding and she initially focussed on those. As we went into a National lockdown, the tutoring went online however my daughter wasn't keen, her tutor went above and beyond to persuade my daughter to trial it and she has had weekly lessons since. Her tutor has helped my daughter academically, motivationally and assisted with her university application personal statement (for which she received all 5 conditional offers).
