DAC Tutors is a small family run business based in Sheffield, England. Being a small business allows us provide a high quality, personalised service because we know all our clients and staff so well. We are quick to respond to any feedback and everyone in our team is passionate about learning and education
What Makes Us Different?
We believe that excellent tutoring goes beyond just teaching academic facts and we believe in the success of our students. So we make sure our tutors incorporate mentoring into their sessions which helps build the character and self-belief needed for our students to accomplish their goals. Additional, tailored mentoring and coaching sessions can purchased which include addressing any specific issues, study skills development, and career advice. We work closely with parents and students to understand what is going on in their world and in their school classrooms to ensure that each tutoring session is as rewarding and productive as possible
Our Vision For The Future.
To have a centre in Sheffield with a capacity of 100 students and 10 tutors at a time. With space for summer schools and mentoring/ coaching conferences. We want to give back to the community and start to provide scholarships and bursaries for students from under-privileged backgrounds to access our services. We want to grow our online tutoring school and allow our tutors to connect with hundreds of students across the country and help them excel academically. These are are goals for the next five years, who knows what more awaits us.
Blogs and Resources
We are currently working to develop extra resources available to non-members as well as members. This will include a weekly blog with guest posts from students and tutors. We are also looking to provide online courses on University Applications, How To Transition from GCSE to A-Level and much more. About The Founder.
DAC Tutors was founded by Dr Brenda Nayame Chisala. Dr Chisala has over 25 years teaching experience in secondary school, college, and university settings. She has a PhD in Chemistry, teaching qualifications from Zambia and has been awarded Qualified Teacher Status for England in addition to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of Sheffield.
Dr Chisala is one of the most highly rated chemistry tutors in the UK. She has been tutoring students personally since 2014, both online and through face-to-face lessons. Most of these students have gone on to do various degrees at high ranking UK universities.
Dr Chisala started the company by tutoring two of her 3 daughters whilst they were in school. She realised that to be truly successful in school and beyond, not only was it important to have a firm understanding of the topics needed to pass exams, a positive mindset and productive habits were also vital. That is why DAC Tutors has a strong mentoring and coaching programme which is there to support, encourage and guide our students to achieve their dreams. Her oldest daughters went on to study medicine at Newcastle University and she is now a qualified doctor. Her second daughter went on to study chemical engineering at University of Edinburgh and she is now a qualified chemical engineer. Her youngest daughter is 12 and in in Year 8. She already supports her through regular tutoring and mentoring/coaching in order to lay a good foundation for academic success.
